Nick’s Café recently celebrated its 65th anniversary on May 1, 2013 by charging 1948 prices for one day. We’ve been in the same spot on Spring Street since we opened, right across the street from the Los Angeles State Historic Park. Our slogan, “Real Food, Real People, Real Diner,” means we offer a classic diner menu, friendly service and consistently great food to our many loyal customers, old and new.
Stop in and see why we’ve been an LA tradition for over six decades. We have the best ham and eggs in town, made with eggs cooked to order and tender, savory ham with just a hint of sweetness in the glaze. All our breakfasts are served with our famous crispy hash brown potatoes. We serve breakfast all day, every day, as well as a wide range of lunch items, including our famous 1-pound monster burger, a Chicago-style Vienna beef hot dog, and much more.
Our old-fashioned diner décor hasn’t changed much over the years, and our customers love it that way. Take a stool at the counter and enjoy our famous ham ‘n’ eggs, one of the nine weekend Benedict options or a stack of fluffy, buttery blueberry pancakes. Our charming servers will entertain you and keep your coffee cup filled.
People flock here on the weekends and many locals have made Nick’s their regular Sunday morning breakfast spot. Our wait staff is the friendliest in town and will be sure to remember you on your next visit. Our food is classic diner style fare made with TLC and a little extra twist, like our fresh, homemade spicy salsa that comes with your order of huevos rancheros or chorizo chilaquiles. And our daily lunch specials, like the jalapeno bacon meatloaf, are spicy, savory and very satisfying.
We are conveniently located on North Spring Street. Be prepared to sit around the counter and meet your fellow diners here at Nick’s, and we have outdoor seating as well. We don’t accept credit cards, so be sure to bring some cash along. We’re open seven days a week from early in the morning until the late afternoon.
